Job Description
Work with the Makerspace staff to manage, maintain, and operate machines and equipment in the FIS Prototyping Lab. Help users of the Prototyping Lab operate equipment and prepare their designs for production.
Duties include:
- Provide supervision for and ensure students working in the Makerspace Rapid Prototyping Lab and other lab areas adhere to policies established for each specific room or area.
- Assist students, faculty, and staff using the Prototyping Lab.
- Ensure that tools are returned to their proper location after use.
- Oversee student work and safety in the Prototyping Lab.
- Perform regular maintenance of Prototyping Lab tools and equipment.
- Direct students to appropriate resources.
- Process and complete orders submitted to the Makerspace queue.
- Assist with training sessions, workshops, etc. held in the Prototyping Lab.
- Communicate clearly with users of the FIS Makerspace and Prototyping Lab.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with all rules and policies governing the use of the FIS Makerspace.
- After training on all equipment, maintain knowledge of proper usage of all tools and equipment in the Makerspace.
- Maintaining a safe environment for all users of the FIS Makerspace.
