Supporting the research and the researchers
ARC provides in-depth technical support to all WPI faculty and students, including rapid prototyping assistance, code development for HPC platforms, data management and backup of research data, training sessions on a variety of scientific applications, and support articles for efficient use of resources.
Answers to most questions, ranging from how to log in to our compute resources, to customized training sessions for faculty courses, can be found on our website.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get access to ARC computing resources?
Go to the accounts page of the ARC website and fill out the corresponding account request form for Turing or Windows Terminal Server access. Make sure to include details on the software that you will be using.
Who do I contact if I am having trouble with ARC resources?
Email the ARC staff at archelp@wpi.edu.
Connecting to Linux & Windows Resources
All of the ARC Linux based machines can be connected to through direct login using secure shell (SSH).
For example, Gompei (a macOS user) could log into an ARC Linux server with his WPI username by running the following command in a terminal:
ssh gompei@linux.wpi.edu
Connecting to Windows Terminal Servers
All of the ARC Windows terminal servers can be connected to using Microsoft Remote Desktop on Windows or macOS, or Remmina on Linux. Remmina is the default remote desktop client on Ubuntu, and is installed on all versions 11.04 and higher.

This includes Scientific & Engineering Software Application training, individual and group consultations, parallel programming assistance, computational resources, rapid prototyping, and storage.
If you make use of any Academic & Research Computing resources as part of your undergraduate, graduate, or grant-funded research, we request that you acknowledge our resources whenever appropriate. This includes peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and MQP/IQP projects.
